You can also still run chkdsk /f from a command prompt.  The XP version acts
almost identically to ScanDisk.  It will rapidly find errors, and then when
you reboot your machine, it will make corrections.

If you run defrag, you will find that scandisk is part of that program.

Hello all,
Have installed Win/XP about 2 months ago.
Something that I used frequently was scan disc, in 98SE but cannot find it
in XP. Is it not available in this windows version, or am I just missing it
completely?
If not in XP, can I get from my 98SE CD and install it?
