Diane: Go to the Start Menu, then press R until the Run command is
chosen and press Enter. (If Run is the only R on your Start Menu, the
Run Dialog will open automatically.) Then type in (without the quotes)
"msconfig and press Enter. After the Msconfig utility starts, press
Control plus Tab until you get to the Startup tab. Now, you can just
tab once and you'll be in a list view where you can use your up and
down-arrow keys to move through the list and here what's checked, which
means that process is starting when Windows boots.
Regards,
Michael

Subject: [VICUG-L] Windows start up
Hi Everyone,
My computer has been taking longer to start up lately and I want to see
what programs are running at start up. I thought there was a list where
you could check or uncheck the items you wanted or didn't want to start,
but I can't recall how to get to it. I'm running Windows XP Home
Edition. Will appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
