This is where I find Open Book's Freedom Import Printer to be very helpful.
If you have Open Book installed on your computer, you can go into Adobe
Reader and tell it to print the scanned document. When the print box comes
up, tab until you get to a list of printers, and one of them should be the
Freedom Import Printer. Select this one and hit print. Open Book should
then open up and begin performing OCR on the scanned PDF document. This
seems to be a somewhat disjointed process though because sometimes Open Book
gets confused and doesn't actually open. But it's worth a try, and I've
done this successfully quite a few times. Hope this helps.
Catherine
