Interesting problem. Have you tried running an anti-spyware program or
antivirus program or a registry cleaner program to try to get rid it?

Subject: [VICUG-L] Unwanted Desktop Icons
I maintain several computers through out the neighborhood where I live, and
have come across a perplexing problem.
One of my neighbors recently has an extra column of icons appearing on their
desktop. They reference XXX sites, pharmacies, gambling and some others.
There is no place I can find within the column to click, either right or
left mouse click, to close the display. I can't find any reference to it in
any place I look. Can anyone be of some help?
Thanks
