VICUG NYC's next General Membership Meeting will be held TODAY, THURSDAY,
MARCH ELEVENTH, from 6 to 7:30 PM in ARTS & CRAFTS ROOM #1, which is
located in the basement of Selis Manor. To get to Arts &
Crafts Room #1, take the elevator which faces the main entrance to Selis to
the basement, and turn right -- meetings are held in the last door on the
right. For directions to Selis Manor, as well as detailed information about
bus lines and subway stops in the vicinity, please consult the
hypertextualized directions at:
    <http://www.hicom.net/~oedipus/directions.html>

PART 1: ABOUT THE MARCH ELEVENTH MEETING

The March Eleventh meeting will feature a special demonstration of the
latest version of the PAC Mate, a personal digital assistant with
speech and braille output, manufactured by Freedom Scientific, by
Bill Killroy of Freedom Scientific and Myrna Votta, senior assistive
technology specialist at Lighthouse International in New York
City. (Note: A list of links to background materials pertaining to the
topic of tonight's meeting can be found after the next 2 paragraphs,
under a heading which begins with the phrase "Part 2" [without the
quotes].)

At the conclusion of the presentation at the March Eleventh meeting,
any remaining time will be devoted to an "open floor", which is YOUR
opportunity to ask (and answer) any question about computers, with a
special focus on the night's topic, as well as your opportunity to
suggest future topics of interest and/or to volunteer to demonstrate
them to the General Membership.

Membership dues for 2004 will be collected by VICUG NYC's Treasurer,
Vita Zavoli at the March Eleventh meeting. Dues are a mere twelve
dollars, and endow you with the right to hold office, the right to
vote, and a clear conscience. If you plan on paying in cash, please
bring exact change! Thanks to all who paid dues in the last quarter of
2003 and at previous meetings this year.
