You can also turn off graphics announcements by going into the Jaws
verbosity menu with ins+v. Arrow down to General Options. Then right arrow
once to open that, and again down arrow to Graphics Labelled. Press the
spacebar till you find the option you want, tab to OK or Execute, and press
enter.
If you want to turn it off in all applications, go to Jaws with ins+j. find
the Utilities submenu; enter on that, then arrow down to and press enter on
the Configuration manager. Go into Settings with alt+s; arrow down to
Graphics and Symbols; enter on that, tabbing to the check box that says
something about graphics verbosity. Arrow up and down to read the three
options. Choose the one you want; tab to OK; hit alt+f4 to exit, entering on
Yes when Jaws asks if you want to save changes.
Graphics are annoying, but they often help navigate a site with lots of
clutter. they often mark the beginning of the content, so you can quickly
jump to what you want when there's no heading.
