Well, after some research, I found that strictly by size and weight, the
Brailliant 40 comes in as the smallest 40 cell display, that I have found
so far. They also have a 24, 32, 64, and 80 cell version.
Size of the 40 cell model: 12.2 X 2.9 X 0.8 inches
Weight about 1 pound 9 ounces.
Others were close, but this seemed the smallest and lightest.
Guess I got started with braille embossers in college and was strapped for
cash and conserving paper because I have always used 42 characters per
page. since it was always an option on the embossers I have used, it
never crossed my mind that it was not the standard. 40 chars per page
leaves nice margins, but 42 fits just fine, even on the 19 hole punched
paper.
anyway, if anyone knows of something smaller or lighter than the
Brailliant, please let me know. Also, if anyone has any experiences, good
or bad, with the Brailliant, I would appreciate your input.
Thanks.
