I've used this product for years, and I submit it is much more convenient
than on-line dictionaries and such. First off, you don't keep it on CD, you
load it into your machine. Secondly, it is ten times more responsive than
on-line versions, particularly for those who do not have high speed
connections. Thirdly, you don't have to be on-line at all to use it making
it great for laptops. Fourthly, it uses few system resources, much less
than keeping your browser running while doing other work.
Just my opinion, but I think its a great product.

What would be the advantage of a dictionary on CD versus say an online
dictionary like dictionary dot com or ?

: There is an upgrade link on the site. The upgrade process appears similar
: enough to the first-time purchasing process - with both a try before you
buy
: demo and a purchasable version.

: no, there is a dictionary built into the mac os which works with
voiceover.

: I have no idea why sales have not gone well. I would hazard that folk are
: satisfied with what they have or don't know it's out there. what is the

: You mean, the same talking dictionary being mentioned? that's
interesting.
: can you guesstimate then why its latest version has failed to take off in

: We released a new version of our Talking Dictionary in June and since
: then sales have slumped quite dramatically. We've no idea why,
: especially as the latest version adds new features. We have, of
: course, retro tested everything to see if we made a mistake but it all
: looks correct.
:
: It would be very helpful if visually impaired users could try the demo
: and give me their opinions - or let me know if it didn't work at all!
