>The University of Nevada, Reno, Disability Resource Center, is seeking
candidates for an Assistive Technology Specialist. The Assistive Technology
Specialist coordinates the production and distribution of alternative format
materials including Braille, e-text, audio, large print and tactile graphics
to eligible students. The Specialist manages the departments Assistive
Technology lab, provides training to students, faculty and staff on
assistive technology and web accessibility. The Specialist acts as a
liaison with campus Information Technology and other campus and community
personnel regarding accessible technologies. Current and future projects
may include: support of video remote interpreting, remote display
captioning, and support of network based assistive technology such as JAWS,
Window Eyes and Kurzweil.
