Hi Jeff,
Since my Favorites list has gotten quite large in the past, up to 400
entries, I've found that the easiest way to handle a large list like that is
to create a standard shortcut to the folder where the favorites reside, and
place that shortcut on my desktop. It's simple to do, just open My Computer
or Windows Explorer and havigate to

c:\documents and settings\username\

where username is the name of your user profile that you typically log into.
. In the above folder, navigate to the favorites subfolder, then open File,
and go to the Send To sub-menu. Select the option that is called "desktop -
create shortcut".

Once you do that, open the favorites folder directly from your desktop and
do standard file management to get rid of the items you don't want.

Using the favorites folder in this way has another advantage in that you can
launch a favorite web site directly without having to load your web browser
and its default page first. If you're on a broadband connection, this isn't
a big deal, but for dialup users it'll save you some time.

Hope this helps.

Tom

Subject: [VICUG-L] problem with Internet explorer and deleting favorites

Hi everyone, I am having a small problem with deleting favorites. I select
the one I want to get rid of, and then press the right mouse button, but the
one that ends up getting highlighted is not the one I want to delete. Is
there anything I can do? Has anyone dealt with this issue?
