Hi Faye,

Is the 'D' drive a separate physical disk, or just a separate partition on a
single disk?

If it is a separate drive, then that drive may be failing. All it takes is
some corruption for Windows to stop seeing the filesystem. One thing to try
is to open the logical disk manager (right click on "My Computer" and
select "Manage". In the Computer Management window, left click on "Disk
Management") and see what drives and partitions are listed.
