Some birds mind hot peppers -- seagulls come to mind. In my pre-lowcarb,
pre-paleo days, I used to eat tons of tortilla chips with salsa. It was my
favorite snack to bring to the beach but I hated that the seagulls would
swarm around for the chips. So I tried an experiment and dipped my chip in
extra-hot salsa (which I love) and the seagull went for the chip and as
soon as it tasted it, dragged it to the water, kindof dragged it in the
water and then ate it! I remember thinking here this bird has an entire
ocean of fish and he not only goes for the junk food -- he also goes to the
trouble of rinsing that junk food off when there's something too spicy on
it! weird
