As soccer is now part of human life and the most popular sporting discipline in the world, residents in Basse are not enjoying this feeling any more.
A big town like Basse commonly refers to as the second capital of the country is without football field. The only one, which was there since after the country's Independence called the High Label Field has been transformed into a dumpsite. Even Warga-Warga tournament cannot be played there.

It is disheartening to see the people in Basse playing their tournament (Nawettan) in a groundnut field belonging to farmers on a rent basis.
The Gambia Football Association in collaboration wit the Gambia government should aid of the people of Basse. Thus, football can only be inculcated in the minds of the populace if the governing body shows interest.
