Rhonda,
You might check online with the www.SSA.gov and poke around. Blindness in
most cases is treated differently than other disabilities. Often times if
you read the rules they fail to say the exception to blindness and usually
those rules are found separate from the general rules. I've also
heard representatives of SSDI say that they are usually not familiar with
blindness applications to SSDI. I remember this admission from a SSA rep
giving a schpeel at a vendor meeting a while back. So, unfortunately many
times it is up to the blind applicant to inform the SSDI reps of the rules.
I'm not saying the two year rule would change, but it might warrant poking
around yourself just to make sure. Meanwhile and through this all God
provides either way.
Brad
