Chris,

Some repeater operators suppress the output tone, which means that
the search will never find it.  Others use a different output tone
from the input tone, which means you'll find it, but it won't
help.  In all fairness, though, most repeaters use the same input and
output tones, and don't try to hide them, so the search feature will
usually help you.
