it's probably a relay tuner, thing with relay tuners is, they can make them
smaller to fit in smaller radios with tighter spaces and when you do that
you narrow up the gap it can tune, that or you limit the chances of it
actually getting to be 1:1

kenwood tuners in general? as in the internal auto tuners?
that cant be right, unless that just applies to the TS480...i tune up with
no less then a 6 to 1 match quite regularly...perhaps not wizely, but i do
it to get out.
