Hi Scott,

Having XP makes life a little simpler. However....

You do need to establish a connection between Home and
Office.

In my case, I have an ADSL Router at each end. The routers
each have a fixed IP address.

The Routers "talk" to each other over a static VPN.

OK. Let's try and unscramble the tech-talk.

The Routers are essentially what provides my Internet
access.

However, my Internet Service Provider (ISP) has provided me
with a "Fixed I.P. address" (I.P. = Internet Protocol).
This is rather like a telephone number that uniquely
identifies each router.

The routers (Which by the way are Draytek Vigor 2600 series)
have a VPN facility which means they can talk to each other,
since each knows the others IP address.

Additionally, and VERY important, the routers have a built
in hardware firewall, plus the ability to "hide" themselves
from anyone who tries to "ping" the I.P. address.

After that, and allowing myself access to each system, I
have full access to my hard drives from either end.

George.

Hi George,

Well, both systems are Windows XP, at home it is the home
edition, and at work is the pro version.

I don't believe we are running a full network, we have
access to the shared folders, (whatever the user decides to
share), in the offices, but nothing for home use. We do not
have a server, does that make your method non-usable?

I have two folders on each system I want access for, no
matter where I am, work or home.

Any suggestions?

Peace, Scott
As for my screen access software, its JAWS 6 as I said
before.
