This is the letter I had the teacher send home with every student in my son's
5th grade class last year. I was pleased with how many parents responded
over the school year to this letter. This year Ryan is in middle school and
I'm not sending this letter because snacks from home for the class are not
done.

Dear Parents,
This letter concerns my son, Ryan, who is in your child's class. Ryan
has Celiac disease. He follows a gluten-free diet in order to remain
healthy. Please call me anytime you plan to send in a snack for the class.
I can then determine if Ryan needs an alternative snack from home on that
day. Ryan and I thank you in advance for your interest and assistance in
this matter.

                                        Sincerely,
                                        My name
                                        My phone number
