As far as hotels go, there is one right downtown that might slip under the
radar of most reviewers: The Marriott Residence Inn is right downtown,
recently renovated, reasonable rates, and every suite has a full kitchen.
http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/yulri I have no financial
interest; I have booked quite a few (academic) visitors there over the past
year, and they have all been satisfied.
Here is a list for Montreal restaurants. Note that only the Casa Pescara
has a gluten-free menu, and is quite safe, as the wife of one of the owners
has celiac. The other ones are those others with celiac have eaten to
with fair easiness, but one has to ask all the usual questions, etc...
If you happen to have some time or travel east of Montreal, I have celiac
and have a gluten-free menu at my restaurant: www.casagranby.com  Many
come from other towns, Montreal, etc... to eat from our gluten-free menu
and are quite pleased.

I was in Montreal recently and my colleagues at Glutino took me to a
restaurant that is entirely g-f. They even have breads, rolls and wonderful
desserts. It was delicious. It's a little bit outside of Montreal proper
(about 15 min.) but well worth the trip. Please tell them I/we (Glutino)
recommended them.
It's Culinary Dreams Restaurant, 552 Beaconsfield Blvd., Beaconsfield,
Quebec. Phone:514-694-6111. Bon Appetit!
