An error in a recent post stated that all Metamucil products are made from wheat fiber and are gluten free. Metamucil is made from psyllium, not wheat. Fiber can come from many different sources. Psyllium is gluten free, as is methylcellulose, the fiber used in Citrucel, which does not cause gas.
The original question regarding the gf status of wheat fiber is not answered by the fact that Metamucil products (except the cookies) are gluten free.
