I know it's not fun for Lori, but I can't help laughing at her supposed
kefir reaction because almost the SAME thing happened to me when I first
began drinking kefir. I started having these bizarre hot flushing
sensations about 2 to 3 hours after breakfast. The skin around my mouth,
face & throat would get red as a beet & itch for an hour or more. I asked
people on the kefir list if anyone had experienced the same thing. No one
had, but one person said it reminded her of a NIACIN FLUSH. AHA! That was
it! At about the same time I began drinking kefir, I also started taking
niacin with breakfast. It was nothing but a niacin flush & I blamed it on
kefir! I stopped taking the niacin & haven't had a flush since. It's been
over a year now. ha ha!
"Shows to go ya" how careful we have to be when we introduce any new
supplements or foods into our diets. I now try to follow the rule of "one
new thing at a time," but I still screw up!
