My PC is fairly new (Jan), built by a local company so I don't have any
info on all hardware inside the case (I know, I need to download
Belarc).  My problem has occurred 3 times now and started about 2 months
ago.  I only have my computer on during the weekends and one weekend, it
was threatening to storm so I shut the computer down.  The next morning
it wouldn't boot.  I would hear one long beep followed by 3 short ones
and no video, monitor remains black.  I took it to the company that
built it and they said I had a power issue but I got the computer shut
off before the storm and the house lights never flickered and it was
also on a power surge protector.  They had to reflash the BIOS to fix
it.  The PC worked for awhile but one Sat. morning, same thing and the
PC had been off all week.  They reflashed the BIOS again.  I now have it
on a brand new 500 VA battery backup/surge protector and it did it
again.  This time I had uninstalled a program thru add/remove and I
needed to reboot the system for uninstallation to finish.  The PC
wouldn't boot again, no video and one long beep, followed by 3 short
ones.  The PC is now back at the shop.
 
Anybody got any ideas?  This has the local company baffled.
