The two boys never got along very well a few years into their singing
career.  they were buddies growing up, as I recall, but got so they hated
each other for many years until recent times.  I learned to play a lot of
Simon and Garfunckle songs during my freshman year of bible college.  I
still was trying to be cool back in those days.  Yep, Vinny is right.  Sail
on silver girl was the trigger words in the song but there were other parts,
fragments, pointing to the true meaning.  It is a pretty song but lots of
songs they did were pretty.
