I don't know why you couldn't hit my machine from there.  If you were on a
higher floor, you should have been full quieting, probably not so on the
ground.  One mistake I think many of us make is we forget the limited
power of our h's.  It isn't at all like running a mobile rig.  Many of the
repeaters around here are on mountains.  The 34 94 is on the Hilton and of
course, right down the street.  Sorry you couldn't hit my machine.
