I've just become aware that in Outlook Express incoming messages marked
"High Importance" are put at the opposite end of each e-mail folder from
where the newest messages are put that have no such marking, and there, at
that end, they're put in the same order (by ascending or descending date) as
the other messages. Hence, if there are 2 or more such "High Importance"
messages in a folder, looking occasionally at the opposite end of the folder
from where I ordinarily start looking will fail to reveal the arrival of the
most recent "High Importance" message.
So it looks important to deal with and get rid of such messages promptly
or somehow to persuade OE to change this odd ordering.
