Really sucks, doesn't it? I haven't figured out how to get around those problems either.

Subject: [VICUG-L] Windows Live Mail

Hello All:

I've downloaded Windows Live Mail onto a Windows XP machine running the
latest JAWS 9.0 update. I have noticed a few things about it which I'd
like to ask how to handle if anyone knows.

First, when Windows Live Mail starts up, JAWS says something like inbox
list view pane. I have to tab one time to get to the list of messages.
Is there a way to have Windows Live Mail go directly into my list of
messages like Outlook Express did?

Second, one time this morning when I started Windows Live Mail, it
placed me into a different folder than the inbox. I figured, OK, I'll
press ctrl-Y to go to folders, find the inbox folder and press enter to
go there. Wrong. I could hit ctrl+y to go to folders, locate the
inbox, but when I press enter I hear a ding from the computer and
nothing happens.

Third and most peculiar, since this morning when I went into Windows
Live Mail, I hear the sound like messages have arrived but when I check
in the inbox there are no messages. However, I can get those same
messages with Outlook Express. I looked in message rules for Windows
Live Mail and no rules were set up.

If anyone has any thoughts on these items, please let me know. I have a
client for whom I want to help download Windows Live Mail so he can
continue to have access to his hotmail after June 30 when Outlook
Express will no longer work with it, but if it does not work I'm not
sure what to do since he's probably not going to want to do it over the
web.

Thanks,
