COUNTDOWN TO THE MELTDOWN!
“Those who have been once intoxicated with power, and have derived [ill-gotten wealth] from it, even though but for one year, can never willingly abandon it. Edmund Burke
NDAM NUMBER TWO MAN SAYS APRC
IS ON ITS DEATH BED
For those who are still doubtful of the acquired political maturity of the Gambian masses as a consequence of 11 repressive years, should take heed to the informed public opinion on the recent staged coup d’etat and lay all doubts to rest. The inconsistencies of fabricated March 21, 2006 attempted coup is helping to heighten our political consciousness hundred-fold. As soon as Jammeh’s maggots came out with their fabrication, the people countered with critical thinking and exposed all the lies and treachery surrounding this alleged threat to national security. These desperate acts raise a lot of important questions while revealing the bleak future Gambia faces with Jammeh still intoxicated with power.
Furthermore, Jammeh’s brutish ignorance should never be doubted again. He has always shown his disdain for the due process of the courts as oppose to the “law according to Yaya” . Parading the alleged coup plotters on television to give forced confessions is Jammeh’s blatant reversal of justice: “guilty until proven innocent”. The alleged coup plotters were tried and convicted on television with hardly any outcry from the “legal profession”. Tamsir Jasseh’s prepared text of confession comes as no surprise. Here is a fellow, who has always been loyal to Jammeh, tell us he was instrumental in the coup. The other forced confessions equally concern us because of the fate that awaits these poor souls. If we recall, Dumo Sarho and Co spent five years in prison without trial.
TAMSIR JASSEH
Make no mistake; there will be more of these desperate acts in the name of national security unless we put a stop to this madness. As we inch towards the presidential elections, Jammeh will unleash all his dirty tricks to create a tense political atmosphere and justify any brute action against the aspirations of the vast majority of the Gambian population.
In my view, this is a direct attack at NADD, even though there are no arrests of the NADD leadership yet. To show the validity of this view, consider the series of events since the founding of NADD – the alternative to APRC. First, is his disingenuous appeal for reconciliation, a deadly hoax at best; the staged coup, the alleged escape of prisoners and adding insult to injury, the resurgence of the lame PPP old guard in support of the Jammeh regime.
For eleven repressive years, none of these “punk politicians” that ruled and spoiled Gambia uttered a single word of protest against the Jammeh regime until now that the AFPRC-APRC is on its death bed. All these events represent a calculated assault to contain the rapidly growing political maturity of the Gambian masses, which came to their own conclusion that the Jammeh regime is the worst thing that ever happened to our society.
If anyone still doubts that this “personality” named Yaya Jammeh is mentally unstable; I urge you to listen to his senseless speech on April 15, 2006 at the McCarthy Square rally in support of the APRC against the attempted coup. It’s amazing how Yaya changes the rules: “what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander”. You make your conclusion. Like all tyrants, it’s too late for Yaya Jammeh to realize that: “repression breeds resistance”. Sooner than later, our political and social consciousness will propel us into POSITIVE ACTION, the only logical conclusion to solving our problems.
It is arithmetically impossible for Jammeh to win an election, therefore the worthless remains of the APRC and its maggot
heads must resort to intimidation by creating the current atmosphere of uncertainty, stress and helplessness that is suffocating the country. But there is a serious blow-back effect in the works against Jammeh’s madness.
Jammeh is on a rampage against himself and the people who sustained his treachery for the past eleven years. His dragnet spares nobody in his fallen house; big, small and medium fish, everyone is a suspect. These are the terminal signs of a dying regime. All tyrants have deranged minds, worst in the person of Yaya who is driven by low self esteem and a complex social hang-up readily displayed in his morbid obsession to feel important. A case in point is his blind-folded obsession to host the foolish African Union Summit despite all the economic hardships that are about to drown Gambia into a wallowing poverty and misery.
Are you disgusted as I am? You should be, unless you are one of those concrete-hearted sycophants who build their careers out of our misery.
WHAT IS TO BE DONE!
First, no messiah is coming to rescue us from Jammeh’s tyranny. Secondly, the “State Department” is not going to solve our problem; they’ve already told you that the “U.S is not going to send in the cavalry”. In the same vein, Senegal should not fight our battle. So, now we are left with ourselves, we are the only solution to our problems. We are the ones we have been waiting for. Now that we have found ourselves, nothing should stop us from taking our FREEDOM back.
We, who have nothing to lose but our chains put forth the following demands:
1) We demand the immediate release of all the detainees alleged to have been coup plotters or accomplice to this dubious coup attempt. Allow the courts to exercise the “due process” of their democratic rights. We also call 0n the alleged mastermind of the coup Col. Ndure Cham to break his silence and come to the aid of our beloved Gambia in this moment of need to restore sanity. If we don’t hear from Col. Ndure Cham in a few weeks, we will demand further explanation from the Jammeh regime or presume that he has been executed at Jammeh’s order. If the latter is true, Jammeh should be man enough to inform Col. Cham’s family, the families of the other soldiers and the nation of his actions.
2) We demand the immediate and unconditional release of the Independent Newspaper journalists, Madi ceesay and staff and lift all the imposed restrictions on the paper to resume publication.
3) We make a comradely demand of our competent and honorable presidential candidate in the person of Halifa Sallah to follow up on our demands to restore sanity in our beloved Gambia. We consider NADD to be our only reliable recourse in this matter of national urgency.
Compatriot brothers and sisters, our country is rapidly being eroded by greed, injustice and blatant abuse of “authority”. The suffocating crises must be met with maximum retaliation, the only solution left to stop this APRC madness.
Finally, to my “toma” Ousainou Darboe and Hamat Bah, I hope you are paying attention to the strong drifting currents that fell down the termite infested APRC house. Don’t miss out on the glory of our collective victory.
WITH NADD, WE MARCH INTO THE 21ST CENTURY WITH
REKINDLED OPTIMISM!
LONG LIVE NADD! VICTORY IS CERTAIN!
