BBC’s Lamin Cham today reported that the disgraced speaker Sheriff Mustapha Dibba was supposed to be the interim President in the event the much talked about coup emerged successful. Cham, who quoted unconfirmed intelligence sources said contrary to Alieu Jobe’s testimony that he was going to replace Jammeh, leaks from investigators say Sheriff Dibba was supposed to step in the event of Jammeh’s toppling. Dibba, we learned has been fired from his speaker position and is awaiting his fate. What is clear is that Sheriff has been reduced to a laughing stock. He betrayed his family, NCP, and the entire Gambia. Despite calls for him not to team up with Jammeh, Sheriff is today paying for the price of being greedy. Jammeh is taking him to court for treason. What a sad state of affairs.
JAMMEH DISPLAYING THE ALLEGED COUP
PLOTTERS SPEECH DESIGNED FOR THE NEW
GOVERNMENT?
Sheriff Diba’s plan to enjoy the older and the younger generation is a forgotten conclusion. His case should serve as a lesson for some of the dishonest and greedy politicians and so called intellectuals. People in the habit of underestimating Jilanka often fall into his political bait. Ndeysan, Sheriff is at Jammeh’s five star hotel. What a bad hotel. No balanced diet, no safe drinking water, no regular bath, no social interaction. Chey!
Considering his age, Sheriff will find it difficult to overcome the challenges at Mile Two. A speaker of a country, being disgraced like this? Chey, Mansakunda, Amankebadingoteday! Yahya Jammeh, amangblafasotodey. We feel sorry for this poor speaker. This is the price of being greedy. When people resort to mortgaging their integrity and principles for money and position, they often fall victims of dictators. Jammeh never trusted Sheriff Dibba from the onset. What happened was that he Jilanka applied the politics of “Masla.” He uses Sheriff and now that the man had outlived his usefulness, he decided to dump him at his hotel. Baba Jobe had a big guest, you know. Dibba a political prisoner? No, no, no, Jilanka….Many people are joining Baba at the five star hotel. Perhaps, Jilanka will soon go there……Teeth Bite don’t wish any Gambian to go to that nasty hotel. It is not easy out there. Ask Waa Juwara, OJ, Halifa, Hamat, and OJ they will tell you.
Jammeh is playing real politics these days. In order to maintain some of the ruminants of the NCP, he decided to nominate Majanko Samusa as MP. You see, the nasty politics here….Samusa was Sheriff’s boy, boy. How can Jammeh hate the father and love the son? Does this make sense? Yahya will end up staining Gambians before his final demise. The man is playing his cards very well.
NADD’S Flag bearer Halifa Sallah a role model
The likes of Halifa Sallah, Sedia Jatta, Sam Sarr and OJ will never fall victims of Jammeh’s politics of “give them money and get them.” These are men of standing with moral character. They turned down Jammeh’s invitation to join his despotic regime. This is what we expect from our intellectuals and politicians. These people can raise their heads high in The Gambia today, unlike Dibba, who allowed to be used, abused and discarded like a dustbin.
We all knew that Dibba embarked on a political suicide by associating himself with Yahya. Here is a man who embarked on a so called political holiday during the transition. Dibba said he do not support military rule and will never associate himself with such bandits. He revived his NCP party shortly after the lifting of decree 89, which banned the First Republican politicians from participating in active politics. During the Presidential campaign, Dibba, launched all kinds of attacks against the Ruling APRC and called on Gambians not to give their votes to Jammeh. His speeches are archived by GRTS’S Bora Mboge.
The same Sheriff Dibba, turned around and formed an alliance with the APRC in the last election with the anticipation of securing a government job. He no doubt got the job, but ended in disgrace. Even if granted amnesty today, Sheriff Dibba is a dead man. He has been embarrassed by Jammeh after been used to do dirty job for him. Under Dibba’s watch many anti democracy laws were passed at the National Assembly. Dibba openly censored voices of dissent in the house.
IS JAMMEH TRYING TO HIRE HAMAT BAH TO SERVE AS SPEAKER????
The APRC is faced with a major constitutional crisis. While uncle Churchill Baldeh is going around saying he will replace the disgraced speaker, legal pundits cautioned that the current constitution do not permit Baldeh to serve as a speaker unless he resigned from his MP position. Another theory they advanced was that the state might use the rubber stamp National Assembly to amend the said provision to enable Baldeh to realize his ambition.
There is also this talk that the President is contemplating inviting UDP/NRP alliance number two man Hamat Bah to replace Sheriff Mustapha Dibba. Well we laughed over this unconfirmed report, knowing how Bah succeeded in exposing Jammeh in the house. If this report is to go by, then Jammeh is indeed desperate and short of people to hire.
Yes, Hamat Bah, is no longer a National Assembly Member. He is very qualified for the job. But the questions that come to mind is: Will Bah accept such a post? What are the political ramifications if he accept such a post? We have few months to the polls. What can his party tell Gambians if they accept to work with Jammeh? We are just being curious here…. We are not implying in anyway that Bah is going to serve as a speaker. We just reported what we heard. Let UDP/NRP supporters control their temper. The bite is here to give you news.
Another name on Jammeh’s possible appointees list was the former speaker Mustapha Wada. Jammeh we are told had been very busy trying to fill the vacant post. Speculations and counter speculations continue to rife.
Ndeysan, Sheriff Dibba is languishing in jail. If this is the price of being a speaker, teeth bite will not advise Hamat, Wada, and self proclaimed speaker Churchill Baldeh to work for Jammeh. Gambians should reflect on Dibba’s sad ending to avoid being victims. You want all, you lose all. The disgraced speaker has fallen. Jammeh will be next. We will discuss Jammeh’s down fall on this forum sooner or later, God willing. Alanaraka, Jerringenjeff.
