Mr. Kah,
I am currently very busy and my contributions to the Gambian forums is going to be sporadic. Let me digress a little bit. I have mentioned here before that predictions of political elections can be very embarrassing. Uncertainty is pervasive and the NADD leadership is understandably very nervous because they are betting all stakes in a process whose outcome shall have very little significance in their inflated ambition of gaining power. One thing is very certain: The APRC shall remain the overwhelming majority in the National Assembly regardless of NADD's victory or defeat in the upcoming by-elections. Now this has very interesting consequences because it not only legitimizes the APRC rule but also consolidates Yaya's government as a true democracy whether you agree or not. The APRC shall still maintain its majority rights to pass any law they want, amend the constitution to their hearts content and reduce NADD to a fringe institutionalized faction of the malcontent. This
shall give Yaya tremendous political power beyond your imagination. In any case Yaya and the APRC stand to optimize their political edge no matter what happens after September 29.
Now with regards to NADD's ranting against IEC, I would only suggest few things to them if they believe that the IEC is not meeting up to the constitutional criteria of impartiality: Take legal action and quit the constant whining. You have cannot have it both ways. You cannot claim that the system is already rigged and yet still participate in the elections, get defeated and start crying foul... No that in itself is not fair and genuine advocates of democracy and the rule of law never go down that low. Fairness in politics as a principle deems justice as a virtue of social institutions such as the IEC and not particular individuals such as the appointed members of the IEC. This principle excludes the justification of inequalities on the grounds that the disadvantages of NADD are outweighed by the greater advantages of the APRC which they justifiably acquire as the incumbent party in power. This is what I believe to constitute fairness in politics...it is the nature of the game
and NADD has to live with it or quit politics for good and start building trenches in the Nyambai forests.

Ebou, I would have thought that you are a fair minded person, but from you
intransigence, it is obvious that you are far from that. How can you expect
impartiality from a person that had already been part and parcel of the
ARMED FORCES ROBBERY CLUB being judge and jury to an institution that is
precisely set up to be impartial, no wonder Gambians are losing faith and
heart on such an institution. More than once the executive has interfered to
reconstitute the IEC how could any fair minded person have faith in such an
institution, I would have thought that you are objective and would see the
contradictions inherent in the IEC no it apperas that you are just blind
supporter or anti NADD to the extend that you cannot separate fact from
fiction, the sense of justice you seem to see in the recent reconstitution
of the IEC is nothing but a figment of your narrow imagination.
You should revisit your conception of what constitutes fairness then you
will appreciate your fallacious stance.
