A part of the President's New Freedom Initiative, this website was developed
to offer people with disabilities access to the information they need to
live full and independent lives in the workplace and in their communities.
Managed by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment
Policy (ODEP) (http://www.dol.gov/odep)), this website offers a broad Range
of valuable information and resources for people with disabilities, their
family members, service providers, and many others.



Easy to navigate, DisabilityInfo.gov is organized by subject areas including
civil rights, community life, education, employment, health, housing,
benefits, technology, and transportation. Visitors to the website are able
to access resources at the state and local level, as well as information of
interest to specific audiences such as special educators, legal experts,
researchers, and workforce development professionals. Since its inception,
DisabilityInfo.gov has averaged over 3,000 visitors each day from 180
countries. Many people visit the website regularly, because information is
updated frequently.
