It is said that the cross seems foolish to those who are perishing.  they 
also might not understand words like sanctification and glorify.  Do we even 
understand those fully?  It doesn't make sense to a lot of people how we can 
be saved by grace through faith, that we cannot earn our way to Heaven.

I remember hearing something funny about baby Christians who aren't very 
familiar with the Bible.  They might pronounce Jobe as Job.  (Of course, I 
had to mis-spell that one for understanding.)
