Hi All,

OK here's the scoop. My dad went in for some testing, the one where they
put dye in you and then take pictures of where any blockages might be in
your heart and etc.

First he gave us all a scare when they took his blood sample in the
morning, gasped a bit and passed out while laying in the bed. Of course
the monitors were on him so in seconds there were five people in there
calling his name and getting his pulse back up and etc. He was a bit
nervous and with the anxiety of it all plus giving blood his BP dropped
and etc. so passed out. This also happens to me if ever I give blood
samples but never actually passed out. It isn't the idea of blood giving
as with me it is usually after the fact, but more the shock of it for some
reason. Anyway after that episode, he was fine.

After he was gone for the test and we had gotten news he was on his way
back and a nurse saying that's probably good news, I knew they didn't
stint him with the time he was gone and figured it wasn't good news. It
turns out he is in need of a multiple bypass, five altogether. The
blockage is at the top of the heart affecting the whole heart and he is
lucky he hadn't had a heart attack because as the doctor said it would be
a gigantic one with no other part of the heart to take up slack from the
affected area. So, he is going in Monday morning for the operation. Good
news is that his heart is very strong and is not weakened at all, and he
is otherwise in very good physical condition. His risk factor is only 1 to
2% so that is excellent as there is risk in any surgery let alone a heart
op. He is having it done In Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI where they
are known for their heart care enter and just celebrated their 100,000th
heart op there. All successful ones I'm assuming. His doctor has done over
2000 of them over the past sixteen years. So prayer for my mom ridding
fear now and during the op is appreciated, as well his nerves and etc. as
well as during the op, and after the op recovery. As well as financial
concerns as they do have insurance where he works but this will likely
push him to his retirement. He was planning to retire in March anyway.
Well he is retired actually but returned to work for insurance and extra
money to actually be able to really retire. He is 70 now. So please if you
would pray as you can and are led. I'll be trying to pop in and check
messages but I'll be staying at a hotel down there and mostly at the
hospital too so not sure if I'll be able to respond right off. Thanks
much.

Brad
