I have one, actually 2. One is here, and the other is the only hf antenna at
my mom's house.

I mainly use the one here for 80 and 40, but have also used it on the higher
bands.

Unfortunately, mine is in a pretty tight inverted vee configuration in both
locations. They work much better as a
flat top, or as near to being flat as possible.

I do notice that the tuner needs adjusting with changes in humidity, and
temperature. I have also found some spots where the tuner in the 570 won't
handle it. Fortunately, these spots change as mentioned above, and usually
occur where I do not normally operate, but you never know where they will
appear.

My overall impression is that the Carolina Windom is much better than a G5rV
on 80, and at least equal on 40. I suspect the G5RV mayhave a slight
modeling edge on 20, since that's where it is optimized anyway. Above 20
meters, you can beat either one with a resonant dipole for the band of
choice because you will have a better radiation pattern.
