I have done it with the master in the middle with the OLDER
40 wire cables...
With all things computer related, and hard drives in particular,
you will not know for sure until you try it with those two particular
brands of hard drives paired together...
I am not sure if this type of configuration "ever" worked for me
with the newer 80 wire cables.
