        Forgive me if this has been discussed before but for those that are
interested, there are shareware and freeware programs you can download
to automatically close or just plain block pop up windows.  Of course,
there may be instances where you will lose valid information, but if you
don't want to or can't see them to begin with, these programs could be
useful.  Here are a couple I've come across in my Web travels....
