There was just a fascinating atory on WABC tv here in NYC.  It had to do with the death of a young girl, allergic to peanuts, who had kissed her boyfriend who had just eaten some peanuts.  The question was raised about the danger of being in contact with someone who had just eaten something to which you are allergic.  They specifically mentioned peanuts, and shellfish.  Ther did not mention gluten, but who knows.  An md said that people who are allergic should tell those with whom they may come in contact.  The time frame mentioned was not to be in contact for at least 2 hours after consuming the allergen
