Question to the lady I discussed hippa with a few months back.

I found then that if COBRA is followed, then transfer to an individual policy is possible with HIPPA protection.

Which is what I decided to do. Now, BCBS lady says, no, that individual policies are "underwritten" and therefore
HIPPA does not apply.

Any suggestions on a transfer to an individual policy?

I was sure I had found a solid source on this before making the expensive decision to continue COBRA to conclusion.
Now I'm told that was not accurate information.

Thanks for any time you may give this email.
