 From the above msg. I will have to presume that your operating system is win 95
because in win98 and above DMA is enabled by default.(it could be that somehow it has been disabled without your knowing.)

I do not know what the position is with win xp (my o/s is win 98 se) but you will hear from other members.

anyway the first point is you must ensure that your motherboard supports DMA.

next access "device manager" expand your dvd/cdrom and highlight the same and click on properties.you will get options and one of them will be DMA. if there is no check mark here put one and ok your way out. this should enable DMA.

now for DMA = direct memory access.
