I had the same problem once. Solved it by using Tweak UI (free from
Microsoft) to tell 'my computer' to recognize the added drive. In Tweak UI
go to 'my computer/drives' and make sure the appropriate drives are checked
(or just check them all - default setting).

I have an HP computer, XPpro & a 20Gb hard drive (master). I've added
another 20Gb drive (slave). It shows up in Device Manager, but not when I
go to " My Computer". I've even used ERASER to clean the new drive, but
it is still invisible!! Any suggestions on how to get it appear on MY
