I have updating RS232 data coming out of a DB9 port that I want to get
to my computer's DB9 port or just to my computer. My research has
produced a device or system that will take the data, convert the data to
use an ethernet network, and then ether present the data by software to
the computer from the ethernet or remove the data from the ethernet and
give the data back by a DB9 port. This DB9 port could then be plugged
into the computer's DB9 port to view the data. This system cost from
$400 to $700.

I'm asking for other suggestions that you may have seen or used that
will allow me to transport my RS232 data from one location to another.

Thanks

David
