Lou,

I had heard about this on the  TS 2000 list a few years ago but had
forgotten about  it till your post.  Besides any messed up menu settings a
reset will cure, the reason given for improved rx is that the  dsp gets
flakey(for lack of a better word).  A reset will de-flake-a-fy it.  Don't
know if that is  the real reason, but glad it worked for you.
