Hi Gary.

I've been off packet since October of 1998, but when I was on, I used a
Kantronics KPC3 and a DOS computer running ProComm. Personally, I found
ProComm to be friendlier to screen readers, than ProComm Plus, and frankly
none of the extra features in ProComm Plus lend themselves to packet
radio. So, if you can find the original ProComm, that is easier.

I have set up a modem and JAWS with Hyper Terminal for my sister, who
needed it to access a terminal session on her college's computer system,
and I can see no reason why this shouldn't work just as well as my old
Vocal-Eyes/ProComm setup did.

While we are on the subject of TNCs, I liked the Kantronics KPC3 much
better than the MFJ 1270B that I started out. The command set is 73, de

more robust, and the KPC3 puts out almost no radio noise, where the MFJ was
extremely noisy-unacceptably so.
