African Union the Dream of
Nkrumah,Lumuba,Dubois,Garvey et al
As Africans leaders comtemplate on strenthening the
African Union, I like to think about great leaders of
Africa
whose dreams were the formation of a one African State
with capital on the continent base on their leaders
chosen. These leaders also thought about a democratic
African Continent.
It is time for contemporary leaders in Africa to begin
to formulate plans for the African Union Parliament
and an African Military High Command like Europe. It
is only when we Africans come together we will be able
to tackle the issues on the continent of Africa.
The concept of Panafricanism as mentioned by W. E. B.
Dubois is coming to reality. We can see in the 21th
century, a new generation of Africans working together
in the diaspora in every aspect of life. It is time
that we begin to tell our leaders in Africa that
indeed they are on the right path for a United Africa
already known as the African Union.
In view of the above, i am calling on African leaders
to make sure that the final document for the
establishment of the African Union Parliament and
Military High Command should be signed by all members
states and subsequently implemented. We Africans in
the
diaspora should begin to put pressure on our leaders
in Africa to do the right thing.
Long live Africa
Long live African Unity
