Hello Joyce:
I would consider uninstalling the modem software and drivers. Then
complete shut down system. After a couple minutes power up and do a
reinstall of the modem. You can install modem from installation disk you
have. If not download the software from the modem's website. Consider
downloading the newest now so you would have the newest drivers as
opposed to the install disk. Let us know what happens.
