I picked up a flyer for Lyric Bird Seed brand at our local garden store and found an interesting comment on it. The flyer said that their brand doesn't include filler, such as wheat......

I never noticed wheat in the seed I bought and never suspected any danger. By coincidence, in the area where we had a feeder for several years, I found a gorgeous...but dreaded...stalk of wheat among my flowers.

I have no opinion of Lyric, which is sold at specialty shops. I buy the cheap kind at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, the supermarket, etc,.

You'd want to wash your hands anyway after filling feeders, because of the diseases birds carry. But it sure was an eye-opener.

Lin
