Hello Everyone!

We're about a month away from our annual celiac screening, and I wanted
to let everyone know that we're half full--you can still get in.
If you or someone you know has risk factors for celiac disease, please
call us to register for the screening at 773-702-7593. We are providing
a free tTG-IgA test to individuals at risk for celiac disease--with no
geographic restrictions. Last year, we served 400 people from ten
states; this year we plan to test 500 people.

Just as a reminder, we are looking to test first degree relatives of
type 1 diabetics--celiac disease does not need to be present in the
family. In addition, we are working to increase our outreach to Downs
patients, type 1 diabetics, people with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and
Graves disease, among others.

We are very fortunate to have the support of Prometheus Laboratories and
The Binding Site for this event. In addition, Whole Foods Gluten-Free
Bakehouse will be providing goodies for everyone to enjoy after their
blood draw. Exhibitors include the legendary Da Luciano's restaurant,
Gluten-Free/Allergy-Free Passport, Inc., Special Order Market and
Bakery, and Namaste Foods, among others.

This is the sixth year that our program, The University of Chicago
Celiac Disease Program, has provided free celiac disease testing. Many
people tell us that their test results are often what convinces a
physician that they need to be diagnosed with celiac disease. Our
mission is to raise diagnosis rates and meet the critical needs of
people affected by celiac disease through education, research and
advocacy. We're happy to help, so give us a call.

Michelle
