I'm wondering if there are any websites or listserves specifically for
exchanging recipes for special diets? I'm interested because I deal with multiple
food substitutions, and most 'mainstream' recipes only substitute for one
ingredient (i.e. not only am I needing to cook gluten-free, but also dairy and
egg-free as well). I've found vegan sites that deal with dairy and egg
substitutes, and celiac sites that deal with wheat substitutes, but I find that most
substituted recipes seem to 'rely' on either eggs or gluten to compensate for the
substituted ingredient (or make the assumption that multiple substitutions
aren't being made). In my own experiments I've found that it is possible to
make multiple substitutions, but it is sometimes an arduous process to come up
with the right formula. I hate re-inventing the wheel when I don't have to, and
would love to chat with other cooks facing the same dilemmas. And yes, I
have Carol Fenster's "Special Diets" book, but some of my own creations are
superior to hers.

I'll summarize whatever I find (my web searches so far lead me to lots of
recipe websites with a few recipes, but I'm looking for something more
interactive and organized).

Thanks,
Andrea in AK
