Ken,

I understand what you mean. When my Keeshond, Prince, had to be put down,
the whole family was out of sorts. It was like losing a human member of the
family. Mom couldn't tell when the mail came or if someone was coming to
visit...there were too many leftovers with noone to eat them...Very sad. I
had moved out on my own at this point and mom just couldn't take the lonely
afternoons while dad was working. They ended up getting another Keeshond
puppy within three weeks! Warning: DO NOT DO THIS!! They were in their
early 60s when they got this puppy and mistakenly thought they would have
another Prince. WRONG! They weren't healthy enough to train it and didn't
have the energy for a new PUPPY. They still love Fluffy, but she is not the
"family member" that Prince was. They should have rescued a dog from the
pound that was older.

I am so sorry you lost your favorite friend. Animals really are in tune
with theor owners and losing one is very hard. Take care or yourself and
take time to heal. Then, perhaps, another dog from the pound can catch
your eye and fill an important place in your home.

Linda
