you can get the male and female connectors, if you can't buy an extension
though I'm sure some one has them, make your own. I use Anderson power poles
on everything so I can make things as long as I want now.

The 480 is definitely on my wish list when I get some antenna problems
resolved.  I am wondering, however, if the cable unplugs from the front
panel and or the radio?  Someone also mentioned a while ago that they were
having a problem with rf getting into the radio.  Has this been a common
problem?  Further,  I am using a power supply with a power cord which can
not be disconnected from the supply.  Does anyone no if you can purchase an
extension cable which would plug into the connector at the end of the cord
and terminate in the standard kenwood/icom power connector?  The supply
which is made by icom currently has a power connector which works with
kenwoods but if I plan to put this radio out of the path, I will need a
longer power cord.  I am trying to avoid the obvious solution that is just
cutting off the existing connector and adding more wire.
