I have an Antec "Sonata II" case, which is engineered to minimize noise.
One of the steps they've taken is to mount the hard drives on rubber
"gaskets" so that vibration from the drives doesn't transmit to the case.
But obviously, that's only going to prevent the case from amplifying the
sound -- it doesn't actually reduce the sound at the drive. So it may or
may not help in this instance.
